This meeting in London is supported by the Medical Research Council (MRC) and other major stakeholders in UK medical research and is being held so that the UK academic community is ready to react quickly to this unique opportunity. The organisors see the meeting as playing a key role in informing the UK community of the enormous potential of IMI.
Sir Leszek Borysiewicz, MRC Chief Executive will chair the morning session which will include speakers from academia, the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, regulators, and research charities.
The meeting will provide essential information on the principles, issues and plans for the Innovative Medicines Initiative, and will detail how the UK can best address the potential opportunities that arise.
