Approval of the Innovative Medicines Initiative

The Council of the European Union today formally approved the Regulation setting up the Innovative Medicines Initiative. This formal approval opens the way for the IMI Joint Undertaking to operate. The first call of the IMI is planned for April 2008.

The IMI is a unique partnership between the European Community and the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA).
